	Wet Felted, Three Season, Alpaca Hats - From Whimsical to Practical Gift Certificates Available! Because of the breathable nature of alpaca fiber, these hats are truely a three season hat that can be warn from 60 degrees F. and down. The lower the temperature, the warmer they get and so light weigth you hardly know that you are wearing it until you get a great compliment! Great in the rain or snow! All alpaca hats are water resistant and stain resistant. Choose from the styles below or send me a picture of a style you would like. All my hats are made from the finest 100% alpaca with wool needle felted accents. When Ordering Use the Following: Order Sizes: 21-22 inches(Small), 22.5-23.5 inches(Medium), 23.5-24.0 inches(Large) Available Hat Colors unless otherwise specified: Cream, Fawn, Brown, Black, Silver, Charcoal Gray and Dyed Alpaca in True Red or Spring Green. Accents vary from purples, pinks, greens, orange, yellow, maroon, to natural blacks, fawn, gray, or cream. Note: to determine head size, measure along hair line with tape measure and behind ears. My Wet Felting Process! [Roving alpaca]

Wet Felting in Pictures!

Step 1: Get some fine Alpaca Roving that is clean and with as little guard hair as possible.

Step 2: Wrap the alpaca around a wooden block, head form, flat resist or bowl. Here I show alpaca wrapped around a wooden head block. Using some bubble wrap over the form helps to hold the fiber in place and helps felting latter. I use a fine layer of fiber and multiple layers, usually six!

Step 3: Add some colored wool or dyed fibers to create a design!

Step 4: Add a netting material over your hat to help keep the fibers in place!

Step 5: Add hot soapy water using a spray bottle or I laddle using a small amount placed in the side areas and top last!

Step 6: After the hat is patted, gently rubbed, massaged, and rolled in bubble wrap, I shape it! Vinegar soak it! Rinse it! Dry it! Then it is ready to have needle felted accents added and more shaping.

Caring for Your Alpaca Hat!

Your Alpaca Hat should stay pretty clean and my never need cleaning since it is stain and water resistant but if you find it needs some cleaning, soak the spot to clean in luke warm water with some dish soap or hair soap added. Gently, squeeze the area a few times (Never Rub!) and then soak in clean water and squeeze out excess water gently.
